One guy pointed out that since you're bolting the stand down to the floor you can get rid of the X-frame at the bottom and just bolt the square metal base straight to the floor. Then the post sits flush to the floor, you can throw down some cardboard for protecting the rim. Another guy suggested to put some heat shrink on the end of the bar so it doesn't scratch up the rim.

Is the process the same for 2008?

I just got my 2018 Trax LT the civic I had before this when doing the breaks there was like a V shaped spring that keep the pads off the brake rotor when not using the breaks. What keeps the pads off the rotor as I don’t see anything like that in this video

To reduce marring aluminum rims I use an old inner tube. Cut a hole in the middle, slice a side for rod

Mike... youre a mechanic. I trust your opinion. Im trying to decide between a Chevy Volt and a Ford C Max. Probably 2012-14. If youre a Chevy guy... youre probably going to say the Ford is junk. Lol. But ive had good luck with diffent ford and chevy models. But if personal opinion aside....which one is the wiser option. Thanks & God bless

It is my understanding that you check the fluid level with the engine running. With the engine off, the fluid level rises and gives you a false level reading.

I watched this to help me decide between buying a 2015 or a 2018 Volt. I love the technology behind these cars and am eager to have it working for me. I could definitely get into a 2015 for considerably less than the 2018, but I think I’m gonna go with the 2018. The center stack in gen 1 really puts me off. All those buttons - crazy. The gen 2 looks so much cleaner in the center stack. Add in the improved economy and range of the gen 2 makes the 2018 worth the extra dollars I’ll have to put down for it. Good video - thank you.

Owning one of these will make you disgruntled. I have a hunk of shit sitting in the back years with similar issues. I have had nothing but problems with it since I bought it. Fact is these were built as China was starting to really take over production of all parts and they are of poor quality and fail one after another. I am so sick of it. I will never buy another Chevy product for the rest of my life

It’s probably meant to be used on screws with low torque. Like all the screws going into plastic.

i hate the scissors jack that comes with the S10. heck, its in most cars.. I would not be using a power drill but use a corded power drill connected to an AC/DC adapter. I did try using that technique with an impact wrench few years ago when I still owned a chrysler using its scissors jack. it did not work.
